Who i want to be

They've always asked me what i wanted to be. My answer was always very simple.

As a little girl i wanted to be Batman, Superman and even a pilot. Now, we all understand that i was living in a imaginary world eventhough i could be the last one.

There were so much more things that i wanted to be. The older i got, the more important this question became.'what do you want to be'. It started to put pressure on me and i started to look at others at what they had to make it like something i wanted.

So I wanted to have lots of money. By having so much money i would automatically become powerfull. But, you see, there was one thing i hadn't thought about. Having lots of money, a big car and a big house don't bring joy, happiness, peace and fullfillment. There's something bigger that God wants you to have and to live in. It took me some time to realise. But now that i've grown i know much better. You see, my job doesn't define me as a person. It could describe me but that's it. Most people don't have a job cause they want it. They have one cause they need it.

The bigger question for me was who do i want to be? Just me.. Putting the pressure and all the material things aside. At that moment i made myself a list.

I want to :

• be loving
• be different
• make a change
• be an example for others
• live my own dream instead of somebodyelses
• live under God's blessing

And above all: i want to be succesfull. Being succesfull means: 'to achieve something you have desired, planned or attempted'. So if in the end i've achieved these things that means i'm succesfull. I don't need to change the world. I just need to change my world.
When you know who you want to be. You know what you want to be. The longer your list gets the more you know. So my question for you is: "Who do you want to be?"
